Stones and Fire

1.
The Basement 04:09
When the ocean opens up like I don't see the fire Tell me what I know Bright light in the sunlight Rakes away my fear What I see is you Someone left my heart Someone left my heart In the Basement Cmon take it out Cmon take it out Of the Basement I won't see the blame I won't feel the shame Feeling all my heart See the one you find Alone like my eyes Wondering how I fell Fell Someone left my heart Someone left my heart In the Basement Cmon take it out Cmon take it out Of the Basement Cmon bleed my soul Cmon bleed my soul On the Basement I don't feel so old I don't feel so old On the Basement Tell me what you see when you find A little glow in your mind Tell me what you see I'm not the same man I was supposed to be
2.
Infinity 04:19
Alone at sea the waves they weave so endlessly by pirate ships that sink and plunder All our silted gold A distant shadow spreads like a widow Grieving for her brother’s meadow where he perished like a winter flower The thoughts of a land where the ancients used to roam The stars are lighting a path that leads me home All the lost souls in a galaxy Pickled in a green blue sea My heart stretches to infinity Hope to meet you there A peachy skin, an orphan child who runs out wild And screams and cries A listening wind It echoes ancient scenes A poetical madness, a desolate sadness A song so arid, desert and cactus Prickling and scratching Praying and letting off steam The thoughts of a land where the ancients used to roam Stars are lighting a path that leads me home All the lost souls in a galaxy Pickled in a green blue sea My heart stretches to infinity Hope to meet you there And the poet and the preacher says To remind them of their death There’s a twinkling in the sky today Maybe one last breath
3.
Saviour 03:37
You were a saviour I was at sea A thunder erupted Through broken trees Whatever don’t kill you Makes you stronger I’m here longer It was a travesty Unjust unliberty Hurting those around you Building walls between ourselves We knocked our brains out cold Drank from the cup untold Floored by passion and the drink Makes us do what we don’t think You were a precious stone Now I am all alone I’m fading Yeah I’m fading We dug our grave too soon Soil in the month of June I made it Babe I made it It was a travesty Unjust unliberty Hurting those around you Building walls between ourselves We knocked our brains out cold Drank from the cup untold Floored by passion and the drink Makes us do what we wouldn’t think Whatever don’t kill you Makes you stronger I’m here longer
4.
Brother 03:36
My brow is quivering, filled with light of angels But sometimes in the night, I feel a sense of danger The past comes in haunted dreams A figure from my childhood The menace of a thousand nights Spent in shivering silence You were meant to be my light Brother you weren’t meant to fight You were supposed to protect me then Brother, karma’s got its revenge As I slept, you kicked my bones I shivered there, a little child You were meant to be my friend Oh brother, you were meant to defend The soul it prays to be made whole But life it cuts just like a knife
5.
Seagulls 03:30
I loved you before You were the one who said that we could reach for Seagulls C Am Em The hate that you store, the ink that ignites each pen F G Am Each poem shimmers bright Em In the English light Am Em The storm and the rain subsides F The strike of lightning in our eyes C Am Em I see the trees, gnarled so effortlessly F G C If only we were Seagulls Am I love your touch Em F G F You were the one who said that we could catch them now F G Your broken wings they stop our flight C/B/Am G You learn to fly F G A million suns will guide your light C/B/Am You may be high C Am I loved your touch Em F G C You were the one who said that we should catch the Seagulls C Am The hate that you store Em The ink that ignites each word F G Each poem shimmers bright C/Am/Em/F/G/C

White Horses 03:24
A solid pine A crocus that shines A liberty mine Enwrapped in a shrine A poet who cut Words from a leaf We climbed up a horse And felt some relief And love is a power That gives us belief A ray of light that Your soul to keep We see White Horses Views blowing our mind A helter-skelter A bitter decline Whitened hair A fear that we share Wrinkled skin Mortality’s care A faded cross An enigma we lost The curtains drawn We bear our own cross And the people may wonder Why God’s left them alone? The wind is burning There’s so much smoke Cos’ you’re coughing up blood now The poem has ceased And the soil is all over me I’m six feet deep
7.
Pilgrim 03:36
The pilgrim asks where’s your father now He’s in bed, he’s long since been dead My mother fell from the angels in the cloud To her rest in the soil of the West She drew a seam from a Singer machine A needle drilled into a patchwork quilt My father had said it wasn’t good enough so she coughed up jewels in her blood A painted shell, a piece of a veil I stand alone watching upset souls By the sea, shimmering lovingly In the dusk my heart becomes a rusk Ignite my soul, a diamond from a piece of coal A subtle dream, an intoxicating scheme We rise above all the heavenly the little dome We’ll fly forever home I was born in an East London sky To a chance buried deep inside A painted shell, a piece of a veil I stand alone watching upset souls By the sea, shimmering lovingly In the dusk my heart becomes a rusk
8.
The Sea 03:45
The train it does so ricochet My life and dreams just fade away My memories are gone, my hair is grey And the preachers say it's time to pray What have I done to my life to feel this way? What have I done for you to feel this way? The sea it changes shape The diamonds in the sun Glittering and filtering a sea of hate You kiss the empty stone You won't leave her alone The bittersweet symphony of the sea Time will tell what you will be Withered and old and grey like the sea Fate will lead you down a path Discover roots you knew you had What have I done to my life to feel this way? What have I done for you to feel this way? The sea it changes shape The diamonds in the sun Glittering and filtering a sea of hate You kiss the empty stone You won't leave her alone The bittersweet symphony of the sea
9.
Hollow 03:12
I won’t love the roots twisted under your feet A bed of crusty thorns swept beneath the sea Fallen cruel love, time will breed the dove, Owls eat toxic dust, I won’t need a drug Fallen, taken, sparks flow in time and the load I went through I’m hollow like the sun, burning everyone The trees they drop their leaves, in my darkened dreams Propagate your love, my teeth are aching now Calling out your thoughts, subtle and unbought Fallen, broken, sparks flow in time and the load I went through Fallen, broken, time goes so slow I’m in reverse mode of my flow
