Seagulls
03:30
|
|||
I loved you before, you were the one who said that we could reach for Seagulls
The hate you store, the ink that ignites each pen, each poem shimmers bright
In the English light, the storm and the rain subsides
The strike of lightning in our eyes
I see the trees, gnarled so effortlessly
If only we were Seagulls
I loved your touch
You were the one who said that we should catch them now
Your broken wings they stop your flight
You learn to fly
A million suns will guide your light
You may be high
I loved you before, you were the one who said that we could reach for Seagulls
The hate you store, the ink that ignites each pen, each poem shimmers bright.

Pilgrim
03:38

The pilgrim asked where's your father now?
He's in bed, he's long since been dead
My mother fell from the angels in the cloud
To her rest in the soil of the west
She drew a seam from a Singer machine
A needle drilled into patchwork quilts
My father had said, it wasn't good enough
So she coughed up jewels in her blood
A painted shell
A piece of veil
I stand alone, watching upset souls
By the sea, shimmering lovingly
In the dusk, my heart becomes a rusk
Ignite my soul
A diamond from a piece of coal
A subtle dream, an intoxicating scheme
We rise above all the heavenly
A little dome
We'll fly forever home
I was born in an East London sky
To a chance buried deep inside

Infinity
04:19
|
|||
Alone at sea the waves they weave so endlessly by pirate ships that sink and plunder
All our silted gold
A distant shadow spreads like a widow
Grieving for her brother’s meadow where he perished like a winter flower
The thoughts of a land where the ancients used to roam
The stars are lighting a path that leads me home
All the lost souls in a galaxy
Pickled in a green blue sea
My heart stretches to infinity
Hope to meet you there
A peachy skin, an orphan child who runs out wild
And screams and cries
A listening wind
It echoes ancient scenes
A poetical madness, a desolate sadness
A song so arid, desert and cactus
Prickling and scratching
Praying and letting off steam
The thoughts of a land where the ancients used to roam
Stars are lighting a path that leads me home
All the lost souls in a galaxy
Pickled in a green blue sea
My heart stretches to infinity
Hope to meet you there
And the poet and the preacher says
To remind them of their death
There’s a twinkling in the sky today
Maybe one last breath

Stones and Fire
06:04
|
|||
When I find where to go, where to go
When I search all the streets I find you there
In a time when we lost
All our friends
You were strong I was weak incomplete
Stars are shining in the landing floor
The world is breaking my heart feels so sore
And it comes
And the sea comes to me delicately
I’m so worn
Bitter cold
In my heart
I want you back
But my pride
Won’t allow that
A soothing light
A gentle breath
On my neck
There’s stones and fire in my head
There’s light and wonder in your breath
When I’m alone
You won’t fear in your home
A little glow in your heart
Glittering heart
A planet cold, rings of dust in my soul
Stars are shining in the basement floor
The world is breaking my heart feels so sore
There’s stones and fire in my head
There’s light and wonder in your breath
